The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Celebrates 3,400 Verified Hotels in Sustainability Program
The WTTC has announced a major milestone with its Hotel Sustainability Basics program, with 3,400 properties now verified globally. This program is designed to assist hotels in enhancing their sustainability ratings and promoting eco-friendly practices in the hospitality industry.
Hotels participating in this program follow a 12-step process focusing on reducing carbon emissions, conserving nature, and benefiting local communities. The initiative has garnered support from hotels worldwide, including major tourist destinations like Germany, China, Mexico, and more.
Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, the Basics program aims to unify the industry towards sustainable practices. It has also gained recognition and adoption from leading hotel brands and destinations around the world.
